Modern, double-ended ferry Toll has just left the Remontowa Shipbuilding Shipyard in Gdańsk. This is the first of two vessels comprehensively equipped by FAST. The scope of work included insulation and holistic interiors outfitting in the “turn-key” system – crew cabins, mess, public spaces and galley. The other ferry – Piret – is actually under construction, while outfitting. Ultimately the both vessels are going to operate ferry lines from mainland to Estonian islands Saaremaa and Hiiumaa. Optimised hull structures, capable of operating in ice conditions, contribute higher fuel efficiency and reduce atmospheric emissions of toxic substances. Both ferries are built for Estonian operator TS Laevad OÜ.
11.01.2017FAST, as a partner of Crist Shipyard, completes works on C325 Piriou, polar ship that is designed for the purpose of transporting cargo in tanks between Antarctica and Australia. The vessel is 72 m long, 16 m wide and is adapted for two helicopters servicing. Because of operating environment the ship is designed to survive the toughest outdoor conditions and meets extremely high ice standards. FAST scope of work includes insulation, specialised surface protection, and now, when the ship is sent to the ship-owner, our works will be conducted in France. Thanks to well adjusted technical characteristics Piriou will be able to replace two other vessels flying the flag of the French Republic – coast guard L'Albatros and icebreaker L'Astrolabe.
